As the only Nationwide Joint-stock Commercial Bank newly established in China after the amendment to the PRC Commercial Banking Law in 2003, China Bohai Bank Co., Ltd. (“Bohai Bank”) is the youngest among all twelve Nationwide Joint-stock Commercial Banks and enjoys significant late-mover advantages. Bohai Bank is also the only Nationwide Joint-stock Commercial Bank that has a foreign bank as its promoter and founder. In 2019, Bohai Bank ranked 178th among the “Top 1000 World Banks” released by The Banker, moving up nine places compared with the previous year and ranking 27th among all PRC banks, in terms of tier-one capital as of December 31, 2018.
